Virgin
Mary is the name of RVDB's favourite non-alcoholic cocktail. It is a
Bloody Mary made without vodka. Therefore, it is essentially tomato
juice, possibly with extra spices.
This cocktail is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, by analogy with
the fact that the Bloody Mary was named after Mary I of England.

You
need a lot of tomato juice to make these fine VIRGIN MARYs!
Did you know that... the tomato is probably the world's single most
wonderful vegetable? Though technically it's a fruit! Tomatoes are low
in calories but high in Vitamins C and E, plus potassium, beta carotene
and lycopene, which helps some forms of cancer by preventing damage
by free radicals. But, is this true?

TOMATO SECTION!
The
Virgin Mary's quality is indispensable linked to the quality of
the used tomato juice. Yes, we certainly need fine tomato juice.
Unfortunately it is not very easy to get your hand on good juice.
Many tomato juices use low quality tomatoes, are based on bad
recipes, or both, in that case wrong tomatoes are processed using
wrong formulas. You will find this kind of bad juices everywhere,
particularly in many of the well known grocery and food chains
all over Europe and America. In this 'Tomato Section' we won't
mention these juices and brands, but we like to provide you positively
with some nice examples. It's a pleasure to present to you the
next excellent tomato juices.
VIDA.
This is a good one indeed! We tried VIDA in the Spanish city of
Sevilla for the first time.
LUNA
& TERRA is a nice one, though some 'training' is necessary.
It is enriched with real sea salt. That's smart! We bought this
tomato juice at a 'green store' in Amsterdam. The juice is certainly
OK to process an OK Virgin Mary. And this is certain too: you
won't have to add salt!
You like to use LUNA & TERRA too? Please, e-mail us and we
will provide you with the address of our supplier.
LOOZA
is a Belgian tomato juice, good but very spicy, so be careful
when compiling a Virgin Mary with LOOZA. This juice was depictured
and tested at Schiphol, the airport of Amsterdam. Maybe a strange
place to meet a Belgian high quality tomato juice for the very
first time!

Branding
isn't always easy. 'ÉcoPLUS' doesn't sound nice, but it
is perhaps the best tomato juice there is. We are convinced this
is a real premium one! To our surprise ECO+ is sold in nearly
every regular food store in France. Viva ECO+! Viva La France.
JAFADEN
is also from France. And like ECO+ sold nearly everywhere. And
again we are convinced this is a real premium quality juice too!
Can you believe it? We do, as the French kitchen equates to quality.
MR
& MRS' BM - Beware! Very, very spicy! Got this stuff on a
Norwegian plane. Even under low pressure this juice is hot. It
stays hot in Norway too, so take care while preparing your Virgin
Mary. See also our NEW MIX above.
"Sisältö
/ Innehåll: 177ml." This must be Sweden. And yes,
it is. Exactly 177 ml of very good RED GOLD tomato juice, made
from concentrated premium tomatoes. We drank a couple during our
stay in Stockholm and we liked it. And our bear from hotel Rival
liked it too..
